Ranger Rumble is closing: the download deadline comes before the server shutdown
The mobile Ratchet & Clank game leaves stores on November 21. Existing players get several more months, with a free Super Pass but no progress transfer.
Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble is closing, but its disappearance will happen in two stages. The mobile game leaves app stores on November 21, 2026, while its servers remain available until May 1, 2027. For existing players, that gap is the remaining opportunity to play, spend earned currency and collect rewards. It is not a promise that the game will survive offline afterwards.
The official closure announcement says development is ending and in-app purchases have been removed. The team describes a final update window in early November, followed by continued operation of the existing service. Nothing in the notice extends the shutdown to other Ratchet & Clank games or PlayStation services.
The download deadline comes first
The distinction between a store listing and a working service is easy to miss. November 21 ends distribution; May 1 ends play. The FAQ explicitly says players can download or reinstall until the earlier date. Anyone hoping to return during the remaining months should therefore avoid treating the server deadline as the last chance to obtain the app.
An installed copy does not escape the later closure. According to the FAQ, the game will no longer load after the servers shut down. There is no announced offline mode, private-server release or migration path. Keeping an installation is useful for the remaining service period, not a preservation solution.
That makes this a practical planning question rather than a reason to rush through everything immediately. Existing modes, matchmaking and competitive play are meant to continue until closure. Players can decide how much of that remaining time they want to spend in a game whose end date is now fixed.
The remaining seasons remove the paid pass
Qwark Pass seasons will continue, with the Super Pass now free. The announcement says seasonal content can be earned through play. This changes the final stretch from a new spending decision into a question of whether the remaining matches and rewards are worthwhile to you.
Existing currency and rewards still have a deadline. The team asks players to claim rewards and use currency before the service ends; neither items nor progress will transfer to another game. A substantial balance therefore cannot be treated as credit in a future Ratchet release. Nor does a free pass change the fact that access to its rewards depends on the game continuing to operate.
Refunds are a separate matter. The announcement directs purchase enquiries through Apple or Google, according to the store used. It does not promise that every previous transaction qualifies. Apple's refund request guidance explains the account and purchase selection process, but submitting a request is not the same as having it approved.
A clear ending, without a portable collection
The shutdown also sets a boundary around account data. The FAQ schedules deletion for May 1 and directs players who want earlier deletion to support. Anyone making a refund enquiry should retain the relevant purchase records rather than assume the game's account screen will remain accessible indefinitely.
There is a useful difference between the character collection people remember owning and the service that makes it usable. Ranger Rumble's notice makes that dependence unusually visible: the app can remain on a phone after November, yet its content still has a server deadline. The extra months give players a chance to finish on their own terms. They do not turn the collection into something they can take with them.
