Xenoverse 2 turns ten with a free update and a carefully bounded bridge to Xenoverse 3

The October 27 update and October 30 festival do different jobs. Gallery access, Star Coins and linked-account rewards have distinct conditions.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is marking its tenth anniversary with two separate dates: a free update on October 27 and the Final Festival of Universes beginning October 30. Bandai Namco's announcement also connects selected anniversary rewards to Xenoverse 3, planned for 2027. That connection is limited to specified items and account linking; it is not a promise that an entire character or save will transfer.

The distinction matters for returning players. Installing the update, participating in the festival and buying an existing DLC are different actions, with different rewards attached. Treating everything in the announcement as one free package would give the wrong impression.

The update and the festival do different work

The October 27 update introduces login bonuses and special costumes. It also updates the Gallery of Time, but Bandai Namco explicitly ties access to that feature to purchasing Future Saga Chapter 4. A free software update can deliver changes to paid content without making the underlying content free.

The festival begins three days later. It brings back difficult-to-obtain items and increases Star Coin earnings to 25 times the usual amount during the event. That multiplier concerns the named event currency, not every reward, experience point or purchase price in the game.

Players can build camaraderie with Trunks, the Supreme Kai of Time or Fu to unlock special illustrations. The announcement also identifies a new Gi and a commemorative medal. These are concrete reasons to revisit the event rather than assuming the anniversary is only a cosmetic title screen.

Possessing either the anniversary Gi or medal can unlock special items in Xenoverse 3, with the reward depending on which item is owned. Bandai Namco says the process uses a linked Bandai Namco ID. Its Xenoverse 3 page is the place to follow the precise requirements as the sequel approaches.

Nothing in this notice establishes a full save migration, identical cross-platform entitlements or a transfer of purchased DLC. Those are larger systems with different implications. The announcement also does not provide an exact deployment hour for every platform.

Xenoverse 2 remains listed for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch. For a returning player, the immediate decision is whether the festival's specific rewards justify another visit. The anniversary gives that visit a defined purpose: collect something here that may become a small keepsake in the next game, without pretending that a decade of progress can fit inside a single account-linking promise.
